Jeffrey Reece graduated from Logan High School in 1999. After graduation, he spent two years in Russia living and working with the Russian people. He learned to love their culture and found his time in Siberia very fulfilling. He feels the experience provided him with excellent preparation for his academic career.
Jeffrey is currently a senior at Utah State University majoring in economics with a minor in Russian. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Collegiate Scholar Association, the National Dean’s List, and an undergraduate teaching fellow for the college of business. He is attending USU on an academic scholarship while working full-time.
Jeffrey recently returned from an internship at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ where he applied principles of lean manufacturing to both operations and business support functions. Jeffrey is also actively involved in the Shingo Prize and has participated in many conferences, plant tours, and benchmarking trips. He is currently working on a research project exploring the moderating role of HRM practices in the relationship between lean adoption and firm performance.
Upon graduation in December, he plans to work for 3 – 5 years before attending graduate school.
His interests include climbing, hiking, long-boarding, kayaking, and reading. He and his wife, Kathleen, reside with their son William in Providence, Utah.
