Heather MacPherson
Sr. Partner & Managing Director-Client Services, Ogilvy & Mather
The Secret of Great Brands: Building relationships 360 degrees at a time
Heather is a results-driven leader whose experience includes major brands, retail and 360 degree integration. Before joining Ogilvy in 1999, she was president of one of Canada’s leading communications agencies. She built the agency from the ground up in three years to a thriving business, doubling the company’s revenues. Sprint, Purina and Bank of Montreal were key clients. Before moving into direct and interactive, she gained over 10 years of major brand advertising experience with major agencies including J. Walter Thompson. Heather worked with Ogilvy as a client when she was Director of Advertising at AT&T Canada and Ogilvy was the agency of record. She loves start-ups, expanding business models and delivering on the promise of 360 Degree Branding. Since joining Ogilvy, she has managed the Goldman Sachs, Andersen, Deloitte and AT&T Wireless businesses in NYC. In 2002, she was part of the team responsible for winning the Cisco business and moved to Los Angeles to lead the global account. Heather added the position of Managing Director of Ogilvy Los Angeles in 2004. Heather was a varsity rower in college. She and her husband, Michael (a broadcast journalist), are thrilled with the move to Los Angeles, and their golden retriever, Henry (also known as the head of the household), likes it even more.
