People, Responsibility, Brand

Lisa is responsible for MetLife’s worldwide brand, human resources, corporate ethics, and audit functions. She is also a member of the executive group that sets the strategic direction of the enterprise. Additionally, she oversees the company’s philanthropic efforts. In these capacities, she has implemented a number of strategic initiatives and programs that have improved the organization’s performance, transformed its culture, and reinforced employee commitment. Under Lisa’s direction MetLife has distinguished itself as an industry leader in the challenging corporate ethics arena.

To strengthen the company’s position and reputation, Lisa enhanced the MetLife brand in the global marketplace, and set the direction for the company’s communications programs. She was also instrumental in transforming human resources from an administrative function into a strategic business imperative. This critical step helped MetLife become one of the largest publicly-traded companies in the world. The company’s overhaul included implementing a performance management program and equity-based compensation. These actions helped the company retain its best performers, attract top talent, and build a strong bench for the future.

Prior to joining MetLife, Lisa was employed in the securities, banking, and insurance industries.

She earned a bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Lisa currently serves on the boards of several MetLife subsidiaries, and the Reinsurance Group of America, Inc. She is also a director of the MetLife Foundation, and a member of Rutgers’ Executive Advisory Committee.

Lisa will discuss the transformation of MetLife’s human resources department. She will explain how its strategic function benefits the company’s employees and customers. Lisa will focus on MetLife’s reason for being—the impact the company’s employees have on the lives of others. She will discuss management’s desire to do the right thing for its employees, customers, and shareholders.
