Rory began his career at Utah State twenty years ago as a micro computer programmer analyst. Later, he managed the university’s computer store and support center. In this capacity, he worked extensively with IBM, Novell, and WordPerfect supporting product installations. Rory left USU to become a systems specialist for Kronos, Inc. He returned to campus just in time to participate in the Y2K rollover. Rory is currently managing the university’s Banner implementation.
Barbara has over 30 years of experience in higher education. She is the author of several book chapters, numerous journal articles, and a variety of publications in the information and instructional technology areas. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Barbara teaches a graduate level course for the Department of Instructional Technology. She also chairs the USU/Innovation Campus Information Technology Subcommittee.
Barbara is a graduate of Utah State University. She holds a doctorate in adult, community and higher education. She is also a recent graduate of the Harvard Institute for Educational Management.
Barbara and Rory will discuss Utah State’s Banner implementation. They will explain why the university decided to implement a multi-million dollar computer system, and how management accessed the system’s benefits and calculated the return on investment. |
