Michael Schetzel
Sr. Vice President and COO, Utah Grizzlies

Michael Schetzel joined the Elmore Sports Group in August of 2006 as the Senior Vice President and COO of the Utah Grizzlies. The 1992 graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah joins the Grizzlies from the National Hot Rod Association in Southern California where he served as the Director of National Group Ticket Sales. Prior to California, he spent six seasons with the Boston Red Sox as Director of Sales from 1999-2002 before serving as the team’s Director of Ticket Services and Information from January 2003 through May of 2005. The Red Sox set franchise sales records in each of Schetzel’s five full seasons with the organization. From 1997-1999, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Madison Square Garden Hartford, directing all sales and marketing efforts for the American Hockey League’s Hartford Wolf Pack and the New England Sea Wolves of the Arena Football League. In addition, while at MSG, Schetzel served as the Manager of Marketing for the New York CityHawks AFL club. During the Summer of 1997, Schetzel oversaw corporate sales at the Utah Summer Games which set an all-time record in sponsorship sales. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, he worked for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, developing the first ever spectator viewing program for Olympic sailing. Schetzel resides in the Salt Lake area with his wife Dionne and their three children: Tomas (10), Tristan (6) and Savannah (3).
