Joel Dehlin is the Chief Information Officer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the mormon church). Joel has worked at the Church since fall of 2004.
Joel spent almost 11 years at Microsoft where he worked in mobile devices, computer games, Microsoft Research, Microsoft’s web site and consumer incubation. The last project he co-founded and managed at Microsoft is now called Microsoft Surface and can finally be talked about in public. Prior to Microsoft he was a technologist at Arthur Andersen and in technical support at Novell.
He is a member of the CIO Research Board, a co-author of the book Object Programming with Visual Basic and has 14 patents or patents pending.
Joel is married to Lani Aposhian Dehlin and has seven charming children.
