This session will provide an introduction to the new state-of-the-art Lean Manufacturing Training Center in Ogden and will answer questions such as: Why did a private company donate $30 million in equipment and improvements to train students in partnership with OWATC? Why did the State of Utah fund the overhead for this facility?  How can local businesses benefit from this new resource?  The session will also provide training about Lean inventory principles including: the real costs of inventory, causes of excess inventory, strategies for getting rid of excess inventory, and methods for maintaining inventories at appropriate levels.
