Jesse James Garrett
Founding Partner, Adaptive Path

The Frontiers of User Experience

Jesse is one of the founders of Adaptive Path, a recognized pioneer in the user experience field. Practitioners around the world depend on the tools and concepts Jesse shared in his book, The Elements of User Experience, which was released in 2002. He is also a founder of the Asilomar Institute for Information Architecture, and he frequently presents and writes on information architecture issues.

Jesse will offer his perspective on the changes that are occurring as user experience issues become pivotal components of software development strategy. He will discuss emerging tools and techniques, and explain how they are changing the way practitioners craft applications to better respond to users’ needs and behaviors. Jesse will also examine the implications of factors such as potential threats to user privacy, the changing role of the interaction designer, and the pitfalls of predicting user behavior.
