The Next Level of Lean: Lean Tools Developed with Modern Technology including Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

Mr. Ted Iverson has 18 years of successful experience teaching and implementing Lean techniques in a variety of different industries including wood products, furniture manufacturing, aerospace, medical equipment, apparel, agricultural equipment, automotive products, and financial services. His clients include both large and small companies in the United States, China, and Vietnam, as well as Shingo Prize recipient companies. Ted was an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2000, and has been an Examiner for the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing for the past 10 years.

Mr. Todd Miller has an extensive background in technology and business. Prior to joining CG4, he ran his own technology consulting firm. He currently serves as the Manufacturing Product Director at CG4 and is instrumental in developing Lean tools for businesses. Todd has benchmarked Lean operations in several states, including Shingo Prize recipients who are anxious to move to higher performance by integrating technology into their Lean practices.

Many companies have implemented the basic elements of Lean Manufacturing and grasped the “Low Hanging Fruit.” Ted and Todd will cover what some companies have done and must do to achieve the next level of improvement by combining Lean methodology with technology tools including RFID and wireless. The presenters will provide an overview of available technology and use case studies and applications to highlight lean advancements.
