David Kroenke Author, Lecturer

Dr. David M. Kroenke, author, programmer, educator and inventor, is one of the world's foremost experts on database theory and design. Dr. Kroenke has more than 25 years of database and application development experience, serving as a programmer, systems analyst and software manager. He is one of the world's most foremost experts on database theory and design.
In the mid-1980s, he was vice president of development at Microrim Corporation where he managed the team that created R:BASEŽ version 5000. At Microrim, Kroenke first began to understand the need for an interface between an end user's complex business world and relational database management systems. In the late 1980s, he conceived Semantic Object Modeling as a powerful new approach to constructing database applications. Kroenke later became Chief Architect of Wall Data's SALSA business unit where he lead the engineering team that developed SALSA for the Desktop, which received numerous awards for its ground breaking technology for developing database applications (Tabledesigner is based on Semantic Object Modeling and SALSA technology).
Dr. Kroenke holds degrees in economics, business and engineering. He was the Hanson Professor of Management Science at the University of Washington in 1990-91, and was elected Computer Educator of the Year in 1991 by the International Association of Computer Information Systems. Dr. Kroenke has written numerous college textbooks on database theory and computer systems.

Michael L. Van Orden Cheif Technology Officer, Sportsman's Warehouse

Van Orden is the Chief Technology Officer of Sportsman's Warehouse, a retailer of outdoor sporting goods. He has spoken at numerous IT functions and was named one of the country's top 15 Pacesetters for Retail IT. Mr. Van Orden graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He will provide an in-depth look at the various strategic tools of applications ran over a real-time wide area network.

Annette Ash is director of Overstock.com Quality Assurance and Configuration Management Group. Overstock.com, Inc. operates as an online retailer in the United States. It offers various discounted items for apparel, jewelry, and electronics as well as books, magazines, music CD’s and movies. Overstock.com was founded as D2-Discounts Direct in 1997 and changed its name to Overstock.com, Inc. in 1999. The company is headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT.
Ash has over twenty years of experience in the field of software testing, automation and quality. She joined Overstock.com in 2004 as manager of Software Quality for the Auctions department. After less than a year in Auctions, Ash was promoted to director where she has built a team of Quality Assurance and Configuration Management engineers, leads and test technicians in the US as well as India. Before joining Overstock she worked at Iomega Corp. in Roy, UT for 19 years where she held various positions as QA engineer, technical marketing engineer, and QA manager.
Annette Ash has completed training from Carnegie Mellon University for Personal Software Process (PSP) and Team Software Process (TSP) as well as received certification for Software Test Planning and Design from the International Institute for Software Testing. She is Six Sigma Champion trained and completed courses in Testing Computer Software by Cem Kaner. She attended Brigham Young University and completed her degree at Weber State in the field of business.

Rob Clyde Vice President of Technology, Symantec Corporation
IT Security Trends: Threats and Solutions
Rob Clyde is the Vice President of Technology at Symantec and a pioneer in the development of intrusion detection and policy compliance products. He was a creator of AXENT Technologies, Inc., and Clyde Digital Systems; which is credited with creating the first commercial intrusion detection system. Clyde earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. His presentation will explore current and future security attack and threat trends and how IT organizations can protect themselves.
Dr. Phillips will provide an introduction on how companies can leverage agile methodologies to reduce risk and improve success in application development. He will share real world examples to illustrate the benefits and pitfalls of adopting agile methods for both the developers and the clients.

Mark Sunday is CIO at Oracle where he is responsible for the deployment and operational management of the information technology used across the company. Prior to Oracle, he was Senior VP and CIO of Siebel Systems for over six years, which was acquired by Oracle in early 2006. He holds a B.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Mark will share his insights on the critical and strategic role IT can play in driving business success.

Serazio joined Raytheon following the merger of Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft Company. Jim was recognized as an R6 Sigma Master Expert and moved to the Information Technology Directorate in February of 2002 (through current) as a staff Sr. Manager/ R6 Sigma Master Expert. Jim has enhanced and continued to develop his professional skills by working RMS and Enterprise executive challenges. He will speak on translating and implementing lean concepts - and developing an IT Lean Maturity Roadmap.

Gregg D. (Skip) Bailey Ph.D Assistant Director, CIO. Office of Science & Technology; Bureau of Alchol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives, Department of Justice 6 Principles to Live and Lead By
Dr. Bailey most recently served as an assistant director for information technology at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He also had been the chief technology officer and director of engineering and architecture for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as an adjunct faculty member at various institutions of higher learning. Dr. Bailey received his B.S. in psychology from Brigham Young University, and his MS and PhD from New Mexico State University.

Ernie completed a Masters in Health Care Finance at California State University - Fullerton. His presentation will cover the proven practices for portfolio management in a fast-paced environment.

Cheney Eng-Tow has been a Special Agent with the FBI for almost 10 years. He primarily investigates computer intrusions as part of the Computer Crimes Squad and is the InfraGard Coordinator for the division. He has a B.S. degree, an M.B.A., and is a CPA. Current cybercrime trends will be discussed along with the most prevalent cybercrimes seen in the Salt Lake City Field Office. He will address case studies and the FBI's efforts to fight cybercrimes.
