Human Resources and Business Strategy: How to get the most from your HR organization.
Al Warnick will discuss the relationship between business strategy and human resource strategy, the different roles HR can and should play in the organization, and methods of maximizing HR contribution to business results. Included will be several examples of the difference it can make to an organization when HR and business leaders understand the alignment that must exist between business strategy and human resources and the consequences of HR not operating in a strategic role.
Alan P. Warnick is the Executive-in-Residence in the Department of Management and Human Resources, College in Business, Utah State University. Al joined Utah State University in August 2000 after 27 years experience in human resource executive positions with Reliant Energy, Enron, and Great Lakes Chemical corporations.
His work in realigning human resources with business strategy has been widely published and cited in leading professional journals and magazines. He has been a guest speaker at numerous management meetings and professional conferences. Alan has a masters of arts in Organizational Behavior, and a bachelors of science in Psychology from Brigham Young University.
