| Geoffrey Sagers will graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems and a minor in Portuguese. His experience in the workforce includes positions as a teaching and technical assistant to Utah State University Regional Horticulturist, Larry Sagers and as a consultant to local businesses.
He grew up in Erda, Utah, a small farming community 30 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, where he helped his grandfather on the cattle farm. In 1994, he graduated with honors from Tooele High School where he was co-founder of the Computer Club, member of the National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America (FFA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). He also held various 4-H leadership positions and responsibilities on local and state levels and was active in Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for two years as an LDS missionary where he learned portuguese. As the computer specialist for the mission, he utilized statistical programs to analyze growth. Geoffrey devised and implemented several computer networks.
He designed and continues to update web sites for the Utah Green Organization, Garden Travelers, Partners in Business, and the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing, Adobe Rock Schools, as well as a personal web site, www.sagersweb.com, which is a collage of his many interests. His duties at the Business Relations office include webmaster, multimedia producer, software / hardware troubleshooter, and network administrator.
When not at work, Geoffrey enjoys spending time with his wife of 2-1/2 years, Diana, and 1 year-old daughter, Rebecca. He also enjoys 3D computer modeling, building and upgrading computer systems, video games, and home remodeling.
