Jared was raised right here in Cache Valley in the small town of Hyde Park. He graduated from Sky View High School in 1992. From 1993 to 1995 Jared served a two year church mission in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. There are five children in his family, three sisters and one brother.

As a native of Cache Valley Jared grew up with a great appreciation of the outdoors. He has been involved with a number of different outdoor oriented clubs in the Logan area, as well as on the Utah State University campus. In 1997 he assisted with the establishment of the Mountain Club at USU.

Jared is now a junior majoring in finance with a minor in accounting. Jared is currently working as a seminar coordinator at Partners in Business on the USU campus. After he graduates he hopes to work as a managerial accountant, or in the financial services industry.

Jared enjoys most outdoor activities especially mountain biking, camping, and snowboarding.
