Nike DNA: The Building Blocks of a Great Global Company
Mr. Roberts assumed the position of vice president of global strategic planning for Nike in 1999. Currently, he sets the direction and leads the strategic planning process for Nike. In addition, Mr. Roberts is responsible for Nike’s business-to-business e-commerce initiative, and he is involved in developing the corporation’s new business.
Prior to joining Nike, Mr. Roberts was Chairman and CEO of PeaceHealth, Oregon Region, headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. PeaceHealth is an integrated healthcare provider with three hospitals, a multi-specialty group practice and several joint ventures and other business relationships.
Mr. Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, summa cum laude, from Weber State University, and an M.B.A. with honors from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business. He and his wife, Marsha, have three sons.
Mr. Roberts, a Utah native, will discuss the embedded characteristics that make Nike unique. At Nike these characteristics, or “DNA,” have combined to develop a winning strategy. He will help you understand how these insights can be applied to other organizations.
